Lådguider

Lådguider, also known as drawer slides or runners, are mechanical devices that allow drawers to be extended and retracted smoothly. They are typically made of metal, most commonly steel, and consist of two or more telescoping components that interlock. One part of the guide attaches to the cabinet or carcass, while the other attaches to the drawer itself. As the drawer is pulled out, the components slide against each other, extending the drawer's reach.

There are several types of lådguider, each with different characteristics. Ball-bearing slides use a series of ball bearings contained within a cage to facilitate movement, offering smooth operation and good load capacity. Roller slides, a simpler and often less expensive option, use plastic or metal rollers to guide the drawer. Undermount slides are installed beneath the drawer, making them largely invisible when the drawer is closed, providing a cleaner aesthetic.

The primary function of lådguider is to provide smooth, stable, and easy operation for drawers. They prevent drawers from sticking, tilting, or falling out of their openings. They are essential components in furniture like cabinets, desks, and dressers, as well as in kitchens for managing storage space. The load capacity and extension type (full extension or partial extension) are important considerations when choosing the appropriate lådguider for a specific application.
