Lusus, also known as a "Lusus Naturae," is a term used to describe an anomaly of nature, a creature or plant that deviates significantly from its typical form or species. The term originates from Latin, meaning "play of nature" or "sport of nature." Historically, lusus was often attributed to supernatural causes or divine intervention, reflecting a limited understanding of biological variation and genetic mutation.
