Lorsk

Lorsk is a small sovereign state located on the northern coast of the fictional continent of Aertia, comprising a mainland region and several offshore islands. The capital and largest city is Keldar. The official language is Lorsk, with English widely taught as a second language. Lorsk operates as a constitutional republic with a parliamentary system; the president serves as head of state, and a prime minister leads the cabinet. The unicameral Assembly of Nations, with 60 members, is elected by proportional representation. The currency is the lor.

The country features temperate coastal plains in the west, rolling hills in the center, and forested highlands in the east, with a rugged shoreline and several sheltered harbors. The maritime climate is characterized by mild winters, cool summers, and year-round rainfall that supports fisheries and agriculture.

Population is about 1.2 million, with a largely urban majority concentrated in Keldar and surrounding towns. The population is ethnically homogeneous, predominantly Lorsk, with small immigrant communities. Literacy is high, and life expectancy approaches the mid-70s.

Cultural life emphasizes maritime heritage, folk music, and craft traditions. National cuisine highlights seafood, berries, and dairy products. Lorskian festivals celebrate harvests and coastal history, with regional variations in music and dress.

Education is compulsory through secondary level and emphasizes science and language study. Public healthcare is universal, and a national rail and road network connects major cities. The country maintains several national parks and a protected sea area.
