Lillalilas

The leaves of the Lillalilas are dark green and are often shorter than the plant's height. They are epiphytes, growing on other plants or trees without harming them.

They typically thrive in humid environments, requiring high temperatures and low to moderate light. Taxonomically speaking, the Lillalilas have undergone several changes throughout the years. They are classified as a separate genus due to their unique characteristics, such as having a compact, tuberous stem. Prior to that, they were considered part of the larger genus, Oberonia, but it was later determined that the distinction was sufficient.

Research on the Lillalilas continues, particularly in understanding their natural habitats and addressing the threats they face due to deforestation and over-collection. Efforts to preserve and propagate the plants in their natural habitats are underway, supporting their survival and availability for scientific study and enjoyment.
