Liitännäistekniikan

Liitännäistekniikan, often translated as additive manufacturing or 3D printing, refers to a collection of technologies used to create three-dimensional objects from digital models. Instead of removing material from a larger block, as in traditional subtractive manufacturing, additive manufacturing builds objects layer by layer. This process begins with a digital design, typically created using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This design is then sliced into thin cross-sections by specialized software. A 3D printer then reads these slices and deposits, fuses, or solidifies material, such as plastic, metal, ceramic, or composite, according to the digital blueprint.

The applications of liitännäistekniikan are vast and continually expanding. It is widely used in prototyping, allowing designers and engineers to quickly produce physical models for testing and iteration. In manufacturing, it enables the creation of complex geometries that would be impossible or prohibitively expensive to produce with conventional methods.
