Liigitasemed
Liigitasemed is a term used in Estonian ecological literature to describe a set of mechanisms and signals that influence how species, particularly plants, move and establish across spaces. The term is relatively uncommon and does not have a single, universally accepted definition. In practice, it groups processes such as seed production and timing, vector-mediated transport (by animals, humans, or machinery), abiotic dispersal (wind and water), and landscape features that facilitate or hinder movement.
Although not a formal taxonomic category, liigitasemed are used to discuss connectivity and colonization potential in
Examples commonly associated with the idea include birds dispersing seeds through endozoochory, small mammals moving seeds
Relation to related concepts: liigitasemed overlaps with seed dispersal ecology, landscape connectivity, and metapopulation dynamics. It
