Lensinduced
Lensinduced is a term used in ophthalmology to describe conditions that originate from the crystalline lens of the eye or from changes in its properties, and that produce clinical effects on vision or intraocular health. It encompasses refractive changes caused by lens alterations, mechanical or positional issues involving the lens, and secondary inflammatory or glaucomatous processes linked to the lens. Lensinduced conditions can be congenital, such as ectopia lentis or congenital cataracts, or acquired, including age-related cataract, trauma-related lens dislocation, or lens-related secondary glaucomas.
Refractive effects are a common aspect of lensinduced conditions. Changes in lens thickness, curvature, or index
Mechanical and positional problems include lens dislocation or subluxation from zonular weakness, trauma, or systemic connective
Glaucoma and inflammation are also associated with lensinduced pathology. Phacomorphic glaucoma results from a swollen intumescent
Diagnosis relies on slit-lamp examination, intraocular pressure measurement, and imaging as needed. Treatment is context-dependent, ranging
