The name Lengur is drawn from the Lengur language of the fictional world where the species is said to originate. In those accounts, “leng” is used to mean long and “ur” refers to limbs, guiding how the name is interpreted within the imagined ecology.

Physical traits include adults standing about 1.6 to 2.1 meters tall and weighing roughly 40 to 70 kilograms. They have disproportionately long arms, an opposable thumb, and a prehensile tail. Fur color ranges from russet to gray, with patterning that may vary by habitat and age.

Habitat and ecology place the Lengurs in temperate rainforest regions on the fictional continent of Valora. They favor mid- to upper-canopy layers and subsist on a mixed diet of fruits, seeds, leaves, and insects. Social groups typically number six to twenty, and communications rely on a range of vocalizations and scent markings, with cooperative foraging and defense noted in some sources.

Taxonomy and evolution place the Lengur genus as containing at least two nominal species, L. longus and L. varians, in speculative accounts. Fossil descriptions in those narratives often indicate a late Pleistocene origin for their lineage, with limb elongation interpreted as an adaptation to canopy complexity; no real genetic data exist outside the fictional framework.
