Lebensstadium

Lebensstadium is a contemporary multi-use stadium planned for the city of Lebensbruck in Germany. It is intended to host football matches, track and field events, and large-scale concerts, and to serve as a cultural and community hub for the surrounding region.

The design combines a modular seating bowl with a lightweight exterior shell. The configuration aims for a seating capacity around 40,000 for sports events and a larger total for concerts, with a partially retractable roof and a natural-grass pitch.

The project is led by a public-private consortium, with the city owning the site and contributing to funding and infrastructure. Sustainability features include energy-efficient systems, solar shading, and rainwater harvesting.

In addition to the main stadium, the plan includes training facilities, a small sports science center, and commercial space, plus an adjacent public plaza intended to activate the streetscape on non-event days.

Transportation plans reference a nearby rail link, light-rail or tram connections, and bus routes to improve access on event days, with expectations of economic benefits and increased tourism. Reviews have also highlighted concerns about cost, traffic, and neighborhood impact.
