Lattiarännejä

Lattiarännejä, commonly translated as floor drains or gully traps, are essential plumbing fixtures designed to collect and remove wastewater from floors. They are typically installed in areas prone to accumulating liquids, such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, garages, and industrial spaces. The primary function of a lattiaränni is to prevent water from pooling on the floor, which can lead to structural damage, slippery surfaces, and unhygienic conditions.

The basic design of a lattiaränni consists of a grate that covers an opening, allowing water to pass through while preventing larger debris from entering the drainage system. Beneath the grate, there is a trap, often a P-trap or S-trap, which holds a small amount of water.
