Lasertrükiks

Lasertrükiks, often referred to as laser printing, is a widely used electrophotographic printing method. It creates text and images by repeatedly passing a laser beam over a charged, cylindrical drum, known as a photoreceptor. This process selectively discharges the areas it hits, forming an electrostatic image.

Next, toner, a dry powder composed of plastic and carbon particles, is attracted to the charged areas of the drum. This toner is then transferred to the paper. Finally, the paper with the toner is passed through a fuser, where heat and pressure melt and permanently bond the toner to the paper fibers.

Laser printing is known for its speed, high print quality, and cost-effectiveness for high-volume printing, especially for documents containing text. It is commonly found in office environments and homes, producing crisp and sharp prints. The technology was first developed by Xerox in the 1970s and has since become a dominant force in the printing industry. While initially expensive, laser printers have become much more affordable and accessible over time.
