Lakeviews

Lakeviews is a small town in Lakeshore County, Westhaven State, United States. It lies along a chain of freshwater lakes that give the community its characteristic scenic vistas and influence its economy and recreation. The town covers roughly 12 square miles and has a population of about 9,000 residents.

Lakeviews sits on the southern shores of Lake North and is bordered by wetlands and small coves. The terrain is gently rolling glacial moraine, and the area experiences a humid continental climate with cold winters and warm summers.

The community was formed in the 1870s by fishing and logging settlers. The arrival of the railroad in the 1880s spurred growth, and Lakeviews developed as a resort town in the early 20th century. It was incorporated as a municipality in the mid-20th century and has since diversified into services and tourism.

Lakeviews operates under a council-manager form of government. An elected mayor and a six-member town council appoint a town manager who oversees public safety, public works, and municipal services.

The economy centers on tourism, hospitality, and local services. Marinas, boat rental, waterfront dining, and parks attract visitors, while a small manufacturing park supports light industry and regional logistics.

The town has two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. A public library and a cultural center host community programs, festivals, and youth activities. Annual events include the Lakeviews Regatta and an Arts Festival.

The lakefront promenade and Vista Point offer lookout views over multiple lakes. Environmental stewardship is supported by a local watershed council and conservation initiatives.
