Westhaven

Westhaven is a coastal city and port on the western shore of Lancrest Bay. It is the administrative center of Westhaven Municipality and serves as a regional economic hub in the Lancrest Region. The city is connected by rail and road to inland centers and is known for a long waterfront promenade and a historic lighthouse. As of 2023, Westhaven has an estimated population of 92,000.

The city sits at the mouth of the North River, with steep chalk cliffs to the south and low-lying districts along the harbor. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild, wet winters and cool summers. The harbor area includes commercial docks, a passenger terminal, and a marina for recreational boating.

Westhaven originated as a fishing village in the 17th century and grew with 19th-century industrialization and the arrival of the railway. It developed wartime defenses during the 20th century. The city underwent extensive waterfront redevelopment in the late 20th and early 21st centuries to accommodate tourism and services.

The port handles general cargo and containerized freight, and the city maintains shipyards, fishing fleets, and logistics services. The economy is supplemented by education, healthcare, retail, and tourism. Cultural institutions include the Westhaven Museum, a concert hall, and an annual Maritime Festival. Notable features include the Old Lighthouse, the Harbor Promenade, and the Westhaven University campus.
