Laevajuhtimist

Laevajuhtimist, often translated as helmsmanship or steering, is the practice of controlling the direction of a vessel. This involves the operation of the steering mechanism, which can range from a simple tiller on smaller boats to a complex wheel connected to sophisticated hydraulic or electronic systems on larger ships. The helmsman, or person responsible for laevajuhtimist, interprets navigational information and makes adjustments to maintain the desired course, avoid hazards, and maneuver the vessel safely.
