LCDLEDmonitorer refers to flat-panel computer monitors that use liquid crystal display technology with LED backlighting. Modern LCDLEDmonitorers are the standard for desktops and laptops, offering sharp images, low power use, and a slim form factor. The display combines a liquid crystal layer with color filters and thin-film transistors, controlled by a driver circuit, and illuminated by a backlight.

Backlighting and design: LED backlights are typically edge-lit or full-array. Edge-lit keeps LEDs along the panel edges; full-array places LEDs behind the screen and may support local dimming for improved contrast. LED backlights improve efficiency and enable thinner panels compared with older CCFL designs.

Panel types and image quality: The main LCD panel types are TN, IPS, and VA. TN offers fast response but limited viewing angles; IPS provides accurate color and wide angles; VA gives strong contrast. Many monitors include color calibration, adjustable gamma, and wider color gamut.

Resolution and size: Common sizes range from about 21 to 32 inches. Resolutions include 1920x1080, 2560x1440, and 3840x2160; ultrawide models use 3440x1440 or 3840x1080. Refresh rates span 60 Hz for general use to 120–240 Hz for gaming; typical response times are 1–5 ms.

Connectivity and use: Interfaces include HDMI and DisplayPort, with some models offering DVI, VGA, USB-C, or Thunderbolt. Uses include productivity, multimedia, and gaming; color-critical work benefits from calibration and accurate profiles.

Maintenance and energy: LCDLEDmonitorers require little maintenance. They are generally energy-efficient and commonly meet standards such as Energy Star. Image persistence can occur with some content, but is usually temporary.
