Kühlungselement

A Kühlungselement, often translated as a cooling element or thermal pad, is a component designed to transfer heat away from a heat-generating source, such as an electronic device or a component within a larger system. Its primary function is to improve thermal management by facilitating the flow of heat to a heat sink or other cooling mechanism.

These elements are typically made from materials with high thermal conductivity, such as silicone, graphite, or ceramic composites. They are often soft and pliable, allowing them to conform to irregular surfaces and fill air gaps that can impede heat transfer. Air pockets between a heat source and a heat sink act as insulators, reducing the efficiency of cooling. The Kühlungselement effectively displaces this air, creating a more direct thermal path.
