Kühleindruck refers to the subjective perception of coolness or coldness experienced by a person in a given environment. It is not solely determined by the ambient air temperature but is influenced by a combination of factors including humidity, air movement, thermal radiation, and individual physiological and psychological states. For instance, a person may feel a "Kühleindruck" even in a relatively warm room if there is a significant draft or if they are sitting near a cold surface.

Several scientific principles contribute to the sensation of Kühleindruck. Evaporative cooling plays a significant role; when moisture from the skin evaporates, it draws heat away, leading to a cooling sensation.
