In contrast, if two entangled particles were like these coins, and one was observed to be "heads," the other would instantly be known to be "tails" (or vice versa, depending on the entanglement state), without any further measurement. This instantaneous correlation, famously dubbed "spooky action at a distance" by Albert Einstein, challenged classical notions of locality and causality.
