Kvantstatus is a term used in quantum computing and related fields to describe a compact, machine-readable snapshot of the operational status of a quantum element or subsystem. The term combines kvant, a form used in some contexts to denote quantum, with status, and is commonly encountered in control software, orchestration tools, and experimental notebooks. In practice, kvantstatus refers to a data payload that summarizes key indicators of readiness and performance for a component such as a qubit, link, or module.

A kvantstatus object typically includes fields such as component_id, component_type, timestamp, state_estimate or fidelity, coherence_remaining, error_rate, calibration_version, readiness, last_operation, measurement_basis, and entanglement_partners or channel_status. It may also record metadata like hardware_region and software_version. Formats vary, but JSON and YAML are common, sometimes accompanied by binary metadata formats for efficiency. The primary purpose is to provide a standardized, machine-readable summary that control software can use to schedule operations, route commands, monitor health, and trigger maintenance or recalibration.

Context and usage: kvantstatus is used across quantum processors, including superconducting qubit platforms, trapped-ion systems, and photonic networks, as well as in distributed quantum networks.
