Deciles divide data into ten equal parts, and percentiles divide data into one hundred equal parts.

In practice, a kvantilbaserad approach often involves analyzing data by grouping observations into these quantile-based bins. This can be useful for understanding the distribution of a variable, identifying outliers, or for segmentation purposes. For instance, in marketing, customers might be segmented into different quantile-based tiers (e.g., top 10% spenders, next 20% spenders) to tailor marketing strategies.

This method is distinct from approaches that rely on absolute values or fixed thresholds. By using quantiles, the analysis is relative to the data itself, making it robust to changes in the overall scale or mean of the dataset.
