Kustannusperiaate, known in English as the cost principle, is an accounting concept that dictates how businesses record and report expenses and costs. This principle states that costs should be recognized and recorded based on the actual expenses incurred for goods or services at the time of transaction, rather than their current market value or other subjective assessments. The primary goal of the kustannusperiaate is to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting, enabling stakeholders to make well-informed decisions based on reliable cost information.
