These cameras are typically characterized by their ease of use, affordability, and a range of features suitable for everyday photography. The market for consumer cameras has evolved significantly over the years, transitioning from film-based models to the predominantly digital formats available today.

Digital consumer cameras can be broadly categorized into several types.
