The process generally involves two main techniques: follicular unit transplantation (FUT) and follicular unit extraction (FUE). FUT involves removing a strip of skin containing hair follicles from the donor area, which is then dissected into individual follicular units for transplantation. FUE, on the other hand, extracts individual follicular units directly from the donor area using a small punch tool. Both methods require careful planning and execution by a trained medical professional to achieve natural-looking results.

Kudungsígræðslur are commonly sought by individuals experiencing male or female pattern baldness, but can also be used to address hair loss caused by alopecia areata, scarring, or other medical conditions.
