Kondensationsmaschinen, also known as condensation machines or dehumidifiers, are devices designed to remove moisture from the air. They work by cooling a surface below the dew point of the surrounding air. When warm, moist air comes into contact with this cold surface, the water vapor in the air condenses into liquid water. This condensed water is then collected in a reservoir or drained away, thus reducing the humidity in the atmosphere.

The primary components of a typical condensation machine include a compressor, a refrigerant, a condenser coil (which gets cold), and a fan. The fan draws in the ambient air and passes it over the cold condenser coil. As the air cools, water vapor condenses on the coil. The now drier air is then expelled back into the room. The collected water can be manually emptied from a tank or, in some models, continuously drained through a hose.

Kondensationsmaschinen are commonly used in residential, commercial, and industrial settings to combat problems associated with high humidity. These problems can include mold and mildew growth, musty odors, damage to building materials, and discomfort for occupants. They are particularly useful in basements, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and areas prone to dampness. The efficiency of a condensation machine is often measured by its capacity to remove a certain amount of water per day and its energy consumption.
