Klickverschlüsse

Klickverschlüsse, also known as snap fasteners or press studs, are mechanical fastening devices that consist of two interlocking parts. One part typically has a post or stud that fits into a socket or base on the other part. When the two parts are pressed together, the stud snaps into the socket, creating a secure closure. They are often made of plastic or metal.

The primary function of a Klickverschluss is to provide a quick and easy way to open and close items. They are widely used in various applications due to their simplicity and durability. Common examples include clothing, such as baby clothes and outerwear, where they offer a convenient alternative to buttons or zippers. They are also found in bags, backpacks, shoes, and even in some industrial and automotive applications for securing panels or covers.

The mechanism relies on the elasticity of the materials and the precise design of the stud and socket. The stud usually has a raised rim or head, and the socket has a corresponding indentation or groove. When engaged, the rim of the stud passes through a slightly more flexible opening in the socket, then expands back into a wider section, holding the two pieces together. Disengagement occurs when sufficient force is applied to overcome the retention force, allowing the stud to be pulled out of the socket.
