Klemmring

A Klemmring, also known as a clamp ring or collar, is a mechanical fastening device. Its primary function is to secure components by exerting a clamping force, preventing movement along an axis or maintaining a specific position. Klemmringe are typically cylindrical and are designed to be tightened onto a shaft or another cylindrical component.

The mechanism of a Klemmring usually involves a split or a hinged design. A split Klemmring has a gap that allows it to be compressed onto the shaft. Tightening screws or bolts across this gap constricts the ring, creating a firm grip. Hinged Klemmringe operate similarly, with a hinge allowing the ring to be opened, placed around the shaft, and then closed and secured.

Klemmringe are often made from materials like aluminum, steel, or plastic, chosen based on the required strength, weight, and environmental resistance. They find widespread application in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, industrial machinery, and consumer goods. Examples include fixing pulleys to shafts, limiting the travel of components on a rod, or securing bearings.
