Kitkaar is a fictional coastal city and municipality in the northern archipelago of Veridia. Positioned on the estuary of the Sable River, it functions as a regional port and commercial center, linking inland markets with maritime trade routes. The city is known for its historic harbor, dense markets, and a tradition of shipbuilding.

The name Kitkaar is of uncertain origin; local legends link it to the old Kitsari language, with 'kaar' meaning harbor. Geographically, Kitkaar covers a crescent of waterfront and inland mangrove forests, with a tropical savanna climate characterized by hot, wet summers and mild, dry winters. The urban core sits on reclaimed tidal flats.
