Kipsigis
The Kipsigis are an ethnic group residing primarily in the Rift Valley region of Kenya, most notably within the former Rift Valley Province. They are one of several Kalenjin sub-tribes sharing linguistic and cultural traits. Their language, a dialect of Kalenjin known as Kipsigis, is part of the Nilotic branch of the Nilo-Saharan language family. While Kipsigis is used in everyday communication, many speakers are also fluent in Swahili and English, especially in urban areas.
