Keräyspumput

Keräyspumput, known in English as collection pumps or sometimes sump pumps, are essential components in various water management systems. Their primary function is to transfer accumulated liquids from a lower collection point to a higher discharge point. These pumps are commonly found in basements, crawl spaces, and sumps to prevent flooding and water damage by removing excess groundwater or wastewater.

The operation of a keräyspumppu typically involves a float switch mechanism. When the water level in the collection basin rises to a certain point, the float activates the pump, initiating the pumping cycle. Once the water level drops below a specific threshold, the float disengages the pump, causing it to stop. This automatic operation ensures continuous water level control without manual intervention.

Keräyspumput come in various types, including submersible and pedestal models. Submersible pumps are placed directly in the water, offering quiet operation and a more aesthetic appearance. Pedestal pumps, on the other hand, have the motor located above the water level, making them easier to access for maintenance.
