Keelearendus is a fictional genus of small nocturnal mammal-like creatures created for educational worldbuilding exercises and narrative works. The sole described species is Keelearendus noctis, presented as part of a temperate forest ecosystem on the fictional island of Keelea.

Etymology and classification: The genus name combines an in-universe tribute to a fictional discoverer Keelear with a standard taxonomic suffix. The species epithet noctis derives from Latin for night. In-world taxonomy places Keelearendus in the class Mammalia, with the order and family designated as Keeleidae to illustrate hierarchical classification in an instructional context. The arrangement is intentionally hypothetical to support teaching about phylogeny and taxonomy.

Description: Keelearendus noctis is described as a small, stocky animal about 25–40 cm in body length, with a short tail, soft fur, large forward-facing eyes, and rounded ears. Its dentition and limbs are depicted as suited to an omnivorous diet and arboreal locomotion. The animal is imagined to possess adaptations such as grasping forelimbs and padded feet to navigate dense forest understory.
