Katetena is a fictional island nation and archipelago set in a warm tropical region. The territory comprises several volcanic islands and coral atolls, linked by shallow channels and trade winds. The capital, Lawa, sits on the largest island of Kateta, where most government institutions are located. The official language is Kateten, with several minority languages spoken in coastal communities. The population is commonly estimated at about 1.2 million.

The archipelago covers roughly 25,000 square kilometers and contains mangrove forests, interior rainforest, and extensive reef systems. The climate is hot and humid year-round with a distinct wet season.
