Kartplottere

Kartplottere, also known as chartplotters, are electronic navigation devices used primarily on boats and ships. They integrate GPS technology with electronic charts to display the vessel's position on a digital map. This allows mariners to navigate safely and efficiently by visualizing their location relative to coastlines, navigation buoys, water depths, and other important navigational features.

The primary function of a chartplotter is to combine GPS data with pre-loaded or updated electronic nautical charts. The GPS receiver determines the vessel's latitude and longitude, which is then overlaid onto the corresponding position on the electronic chart.
