Kalvokäyttöiset

Kalvokäyttöiset, often translated as diaphragm pumps or membrane pumps, are a type of positive displacement pump that utilize a flexible diaphragm to move fluid. The diaphragm is typically made of a durable material like rubber, Teflon, or a composite, and it is actuated by mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic means. As the diaphragm moves, it creates a changing volume within a pump chamber. This change in volume draws fluid into the chamber during the suction stroke and forces it out during the discharge stroke.

A key feature of Kalvokäyttöiset pumps is their ability to handle a wide range of fluids, including corrosive, abrasive, and shear-sensitive materials, as they are generally hermetically sealed. This means the fluid only comes into contact with the diaphragm and the pump body, preventing leaks and contamination. The absence of rotating seals, common in other pump types, contributes to their reliability and low maintenance requirements, especially when dealing with aggressive chemicals.

These pumps are widely used in various industries such as chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, water treatment, and mining. Their applications range from metering and dosing precise volumes of chemicals to transferring slurries and viscous liquids. The operation can be either single-acting, where the diaphragm moves in one direction to pump, or double-acting, where the diaphragm moves in both directions to achieve continuous flow. The actuating mechanism can be a motor connected via a crankshaft, a hydraulic piston, or compressed air.
