KNUST

Knust, commonly known as Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, is a public research university located in Kumasi, Ghana. It is one of the oldest and most prominent universities in the country, with a strong emphasis on science, technology, engineering and related disciplines.

Origins and status: The institution began in 1951 as Kumasi College of Technology, becoming a full-fledged university in 1961 and taking the name Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in honor of Ghana's first president.
