Jyardha is a fictional region commonly used in world-building and speculative fiction. Described as a highland, landlocked country on the eastern edge of the continent of Narath, it is home to the Jyardhans. The landscape features terraced hills, basalt plateaus, and a network of river valleys that border several historical trade routes.

Name etymology is fictional within the setting. In lore, the name Jyardha derives from two elements in the ancient Jyardh language: jy meaning water and ardha meaning land, a pairing chosen to reflect the region's lakes and terraced terrain.

Geography centers on river valleys and elevated basins. The climate is temperate highland, with dry winters and wet summers. The region supports rice and millet in lower terraces, while upland areas sustain barley and root crops.

Historically, Jyardha formed from loose hill communities, unifying under a common council by the 15th century. A centralized state rose in the 18th century, was later reconstituted within a federal framework, and today operates as an autonomous region with limited but defined powers.

Jyardhan culture centers on kinship networks, seasonal festivals, and craft traditions. The Jyardha language family includes two major dialects and a ceremonial register used in rituals. Visual arts emphasize wood carving and textile weaving, while music features stringed instruments and percussion tied to agricultural cycles.
