Jeongjo
Jeongjo, born Yi San, was the 22nd king of the Joseon Dynasty of Korea, reigning from 1776 to 1800. He was the son of Crown Prince Sado and Lady Hyegyeong, and the grandson of King Yeongjo. Jeongjo's reign is often considered a period of intellectual and cultural revival for Joseon. He was a prolific scholar and a patron of the arts and sciences, actively promoting learning and encouraging the development of new ideas.
