Jatismore

Jatismore is a fictional village and administrative ward in the northern part of Veridia, a self-contained realm used in worldbuilding and fantasy literature. It is commonly cited as an example of a small rural community with a mixed economy and a long local history.

Situated on the gently rolling plain beside the Jat River, the village covers roughly 4.2 square miles (about 11 square kilometers) and has a resident population of around 3,200, with a seasonal influx of visitors for markets and festival events.

Jatismore is first mentioned in records dating to the 13th century, when it served as a market village for the surrounding farms. Its economy historically rested on agriculture and textile weaving; today it retains a small manufacturing sector and has developed agritourism and artisan studios.

Prominent landmarks include Jatismore Manor, a 17th-century residence, the stone Old Bridge over the Jat River, and St. Aidan’s Church. The annual Harvest Festival celebrates local produce and crafts and is accompanied by weaving fairs and demonstrations of traditional techniques.

Administratively, Jatismore forms a ward within Veridia’s regional council and maintains a local council office. Transportation relies on regional roads, with the nearest railway connection in neighboring towns. Education is provided by Jatismore Primary School and a combined secondary campus in the district.
