Jatehuoltona

Jatehuoltona is a term that refers to waste management services in Finland. It encompasses the collection, transport, treatment, and disposal of various types of waste generated by households, businesses, and public institutions. The primary goal of jatehuoltona is to ensure that waste is handled in an environmentally sound and efficient manner, minimizing its impact on public health and the natural environment.

The Finnish waste management system is organized with municipalities playing a central role in providing waste collection services. They often contract with private companies to carry out the physical collection and transportation of waste. Different waste streams, such as mixed municipal waste, recyclables (paper, cardboard, glass, metal, plastic), organic waste, and hazardous waste, are collected separately to facilitate appropriate treatment and recycling.
