Izwili is a fictional republic in the eastern region of the continent of Nemeria. It borders the Laran Sea to the south and the landlocked states of Velkoria and Kadir to the west and north. The capital is Zimar. The official language is Izwili; widely spoken minority languages include Velan and Larian. The population is about 2.4 million. The landscape combines coastal plains, river valleys, and a central highland area with a temperate to alpine climate.

History: The region consisted of competing principalities until unification in the 19th century. Independence was proclaimed in 1849, followed by a constitutional framework in 1901. Modernizing reforms in the late 20th century reinforced civilian rule and regular elections.
