Intervellik is a fictional term used in speculative fiction and in some niche scholarly discussions to describe a framework for analyzing how events are distributed within time intervals. The coinage blends the idea of an interval with a suffix designed to evoke a systematic theory, rather than a conventional discipline.

In concept, intervellik treats an interval as a container that can host multiple subevents or micro-events. It distinguishes between the interval’s endpoints (the outer timing) and the internal sequence of subevents (the inner timing). Proponents describe intervellik as a way to explain why audiences perceive continuity in stories that interleave parallel plotlines or why designers allocate resource use in bursts within fixed windows.

Applications of intervellik appear in narrative design, gameplay pacing, and scheduling in project-management simulations. Variants include retrospective intervellik, which analyzes past interleaving, and prospective intervellik, which models planned interleaving.
