Inseneritavia

Inseneritavia is a small, non-sentient avian species native to the dense, mineral-rich forests of the continent of Xylos. These birds are characterized by their metallic-sheened plumage, which ranges in color from deep bronze to iridescent silver, and their unusually dense bone structure. This density is a result of their diet, which consists primarily of small, mineral-rich invertebrates and certain types of metallic ore found in the soil and rock formations of their habitat.

Their wings are relatively short and broad, adapted for maneuvering through dense foliage rather than long-distance flight. Inseneritavia are often observed hopping and climbing along branches and the forest floor, using their strong, clawed feet. Their beaks are short, stout, and pointed, ideal for probing into crevices and breaking open tough exoskeletons.

Reproduction typically occurs once a year, with females laying clutches of two to three eggs in nests constructed from twigs and a binding agent derived from tree sap, often reinforced with small pebbles. The metallic sheen of their feathers is thought to be a byproduct of the mineral absorption and may play a role in thermoregulation or camouflage amongst the shimmering foliage of their native forests. They are solitary creatures outside of the mating season and have a simple, melodic call that echoes through the undergrowth.
