Ingerképzés

Ingerképzés, often translated as "stimulus training" or "cue training," is a method used in animal behavior modification and training. It involves associating a specific, neutral stimulus with a desired behavior. The goal is for the animal to learn that the presence of the stimulus predicts or elicits the behavior.

The process typically begins by pairing the chosen stimulus, which could be a sound, a visual cue, or a specific word, with a reward. This reward is given immediately after the animal performs the desired behavior, often through an existing training method like operant conditioning. Over repeated pairings, the animal begins to associate the stimulus with the positive reinforcement and the subsequent behavior.

Once the association is established, the stimulus can be used to elicit the behavior more reliably. For example, a trainer might use a specific hand signal (the stimulus) to prompt a dog to sit (the behavior). The effectiveness of ingerképzés relies on the clarity of the stimulus, the consistency of the training, and the value of the reinforcement to the animal.

This technique is widely applied in various animal training contexts, including service animal training, dog obedience, and even in some therapeutic settings.
