Indenlands is a fictional sovereign nation used in worldbuilding and comparative studies. It lies in a temperate zone of a hypothetical northern hemisphere and includes a continental mainland plus several archipelagoes along its western coast. The landscape features rolling hills, forests, and river valleys feeding coastal cities.

Its origins lie in a late medieval confederation of coastal city-states. Broad unification occurred in the 19th century, followed by adoption of a constitutional framework in the early 20th. Industrial growth afterward diversified the economy toward services and technology.

Indenlands is a constitutional parliamentary republic. The president serves as head of state and a prime minister leads government. A bicameral legislature and an independent judiciary oversee policy, with multiple parties and regular elections sustaining a plural political culture.

The country is divided into several provinces with local councils that share authority over education, infrastructure, and culture.

The economy is diversified, with maritime trade, forestry, agriculture, manufacturing, and a growing technology sector. The currency is the inden. Key ports include Port Solis and Easthaven; exports include timber, seafood, and machinery. Renewable energy, especially hydro, wind, and solar, is expanding.

Around five million people live in Indenlands. The official language is Indenish, with regional minority languages. The population is urbanizing, with culture centered on literature, music, crafts, and outdoor traditions. Cuisine combines river fish, grains, and forest berries.

Public education is universal; higher education is anchored by two universities. Healthcare is publicly funded, and social programs support research, the arts, and environmental protection.
