Ihosyöpämuotoja
Ihosyöpämuotoja refers to the different types of skin cancer. The most common forms include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Basal cell carcinoma is the most prevalent type and typically appears as a pearly or waxy bump, or a flat, flesh-colored or brown scar-like lesion. It usually develops on sun-exposed areas of the skin. Squamous cell carcinoma is the second most common and often presents as a firm, red nodule, a scaly, crusted patch, or a sore that doesn't heal. This type can also arise on sun-exposed skin but can occur on other parts of the body as well. Melanoma is the least common but most dangerous form of skin cancer. It develops from melanocytes, the pigment-producing cells. Melanomas can appear as new moles or changes in existing moles, often exhibiting the ABCDE rule: Asymmetry, irregular Border, uneven Color, Diameter larger than 6mm, and Evolving or changing appearance. Other rarer types of skin cancer exist, such as Merkel cell carcinoma and Kaposi sarcoma. The development of these cancers is often linked to exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or tanning beds, but genetic factors and weakened immune systems can also play a role. Early detection and treatment are crucial for all forms of skin cancer to improve prognosis.
