ISOkrav

ISOkrav refers to the requirements set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that apply to products, services, or management systems in order to meet a specific ISO standard. The term is used in Swedish and other languages to denote what an organization must do to conform to an ISO standard. ISO standards are voluntary, though in some sectors or contracts they may be required by customers, regulators, or supply chains.

ISO standards cover a wide range of areas, including quality management (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001), information security (ISO 27001), occupational health and safety (ISO 45001), and food safety (ISO 22000). They may be used for internal process improvement or as a basis for third-party certification.

Conformity to ISOkrav is typically verified by accredited certification bodies. The process starts with identifying the relevant standard, performing a gap analysis, and developing or updating a management system and documented procedures. Implementation is followed by internal audits and management reviews before an external audit by a certification body. If successful, the organization receives ISO certification and must undergo periodic surveillance audits to maintain it.

It is important to distinguish ISOkrav from legal regulations: ISO certification is generally voluntary and serves as a demonstration of best practices or customer assurance, not a legal requirement. Certification can enhance credibility, market access, and risk management, though it does not guarantee product safety or legal compliance by itself. Standards are periodically revised to reflect new technologies and practices.
