ISDBT
ISDB-T, short for Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting - Terrestrial, is a digital terrestrial television broadcasting standard developed by Japan’s ARIB. It is designed to deliver television programs, audio, and data to fixed, portable, and mobile receivers over terrestrial networks. A hallmark of ISDB-T is its built-in support for mobile reception through a dedicated 1-segment service, while full-service reception is provided in broader segments.
The standard is based on an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) framework and uses a segmented transmission
ISDB-T has been adopted beyond Japan under the umbrella of ISDB-T International, with a notable regional variant
Development and standardization began in the 1990s, with Japan conducting extensive field trials before commercial rollout
