IRESElemente

IRESElemente is a modular unit used within the IRE framework to model and implement functional roles in integrated energy and information systems. The term is used in academic, engineering, and industry contexts to describe reusable building blocks that can be combined to form larger systems such as microgrids, energy management platforms, or simulation models.

A typical IREElemente defines a generic interface set for data exchange, control signals, and status reporting. It encapsulates functional logic, data models, and safety constraints, while remaining agnostic about the surrounding topology. Elements are designed to be composable, scalable, and interoperable, enabling plug-and-play integration across vendors and platforms.

Common element kinds include energy source elements, storage elements, load elements, and control or interface elements. In practice, designers use these blocks to simulate or deploy solutions such as demand-response schemes, distributed generation, and energy optimization algorithms.
