Hårlindningar

Hårlindningar, often translated as hair wraps or hair coverings, are textile materials used to cover and secure hair. Throughout history and across various cultures, people have employed hårlindningar for a multitude of reasons, ranging from practical necessity to religious observance and personal adornment.

The simplest forms of hårlindningar can be rudimentary strips of cloth tied around the head to keep hair out of the face during work or physical activity. In many traditional societies, elaborate hair wraps were an integral part of women's attire, serving to protect their hair from the elements, maintain modesty, or signify social status and marital condition. These could be woven, embroidered, or adorned with beads, shells, or other decorative elements.
