Huippuimurijärjestelmä

Huippuimurijärjestelmä, often translated as a central vacuum system, is a built-in cleaning system for buildings. It consists of a central power unit, typically located in a garage, basement, or utility room, connected to a network of pipes installed within the walls of the building. These pipes run to inlets located in various rooms. When a user wants to clean, they attach a vacuum hose to one of these inlets. The central power unit then creates a strong suction that draws dirt, dust, and debris through the pipes to the collection canister of the power unit.

The primary advantage of a huippuimurijärjestelmä is its powerful suction, which is generally stronger than that of portable vacuum cleaners due to the larger motor and the absence of restrictions from hose length or internal filters. It also significantly improves indoor air quality, as the dust and allergens collected by the system are exhausted directly outside the building, rather than being recirculated into the air by portable vacuums. Maintenance is typically limited to emptying the collection canister, which can be done less frequently than with standard vacuums. Installation is usually done during the construction phase of a building, though retrofitting is also possible.
