Hoofdmuren
Hoofdmuren, or main walls, are a fundamental element in building construction. These are the primary load-bearing walls that support the structural integrity of a building. They are responsible for carrying the weight of the roof, floors, and any upper stories, and transferring this load down to the foundation. The thickness and material of hoofdmuren are critical factors, determined by engineering calculations and building codes to ensure they can withstand the intended loads and environmental stresses.
In traditional construction, hoofdmuren were often made of solid masonry, such as brick, stone, or concrete.
